For generations of Filipino seafarers looking for their next ship, the routine has been almost predictable.
Prepare a thick folder. Print several copies of a résumé. Photocopy certificates. Bring passport-size photos. Travel to Manila. Walk from one manning agency to another. Fall in line. Submit another CV. Fill out another application form asking almost exactly the same questions written on the previous one.
Then wait.
It is a process familiar to nearly every seafarer who has spent time looking for work ashore. For an industry that operates some of the world's most technologically advanced ships, recruitment can still feel surprisingly dependent on paper. At the Marino World Manning Expo and Conference (MWMEC) 2026, that familiar scene may begin to look very different.
When thousands of Filipino seafarers converge at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City from September 23 to 25, 2026, their most important employment tool may no longer be the folder under their arm.
It may be the phone in their hand.
One Profile, One Scan, More Opportunities
A seafarer's professional life is unusually document-heavy.
His or her career can depend on sea-service records, licenses, certificates, training, work history, rank, vessel experience and dozens of other details. Traditionally, much of that information has been repeatedly reproduced every time the seafarer applies somewhere new.
SEAker's answer was to create a living digital maritime profile.
Today, the platform allows seafarers to build a comprehensive digital résumé containing work experience, certifications, licenses and other professional information. Step 2: Create and verify your account New users should create their SEAker account and complete whatever authentication is required. SEAker has its phone-registration and OTP processes and includes privacy and data-sharing consent during registration and profile management.
Step 3: Build your Smart Digital Profile Complete your personal information and professional background. Add your present or desired rank. Enter your work and sea-service experience. Check your employment status.
Step 4: Update your licenses, certificates and documents SEAker's current profile allows management of documents, certificates and licenses, including expiration tracking and notifications.
Step 5: Prepare your CV SEAker now allows users to upload an existing CV, automatically parse its information, edit it, preview it and generate a PDF. It can also generate a CV based on information contained in the user's SEAker profile.
