Marino World recently sealed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Seafarers Convention (SEACon) to ensure the success of the Marino World Manning Expo and Conference (MWMEC), which will be held on September 23-25, 2026 at the World Trade Center Manila.
Currently serving as the MWMEC’s vice chair, Lea Paradero is a businesswoman and wife of a seafarer cum executive. Together with her team, she created and managed maritime events like SEACon in 2019, continuing her advocacy for the empowerment of seafarer families.
Lyn Bacani, chairperson of MWMEC and Marino World Publisher, acknowledged that SEACon's team complements its alliances with other reputable organizations, such as MWMEC's technology partner, SEAker; its charity partner, The Mission to Seafarers; and its social media partner, Marino Ph, all of which comprise the MWMEC organizing committee.
MWMEC 2026 will feature a job fair, a maritime industry conference and seminars for seafarers and their families focusing on mental health, financial literacy, and family support.
