Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges Foundation of Legaspi City (Albay), Inc. held its 40th Commencement Exercises on July 10, 2026, at the JCJ Gymnasium, Mariners’ by the Sea, in Legazpi City.
The ceremony recognized the members of Batch MASINLAYAG, Class of 2026, who completed their respective programs under the institution’s Maritime Studies and Business and Engineering divisions.
The commencement activities opened with a grand processional, followed by the entrance of colors and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by the Mariners’ Legazpi Band.
MPCF-Legazpi President Merle Jimenez-San Pedro, FRIM, welcomed the graduates, parents, faculty members, school officials and invited guests who attended the ceremony.
Capt. Eduardo M. Limpin, MM, president of Dalisay Shipping Corporation, served as the commencement speaker for the Maritime Education programs.
Meanwhile, Dr. Gina B. Alcoriza, professor and graduate program coordinator of the Asian Institute of Tourism at the University of the Philippines, addressed the graduates of the Business and Engineering programs. Graduates from the Maritime Studies division participated in the institution’s Ring-Hop, Affirmation and Recognition ceremonies as part of the commencement program.
The maritime rites included graduates from the Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering programs. The ceremonies marked the completion of their academic training before they proceed to further professional requirements, shipboard training and employment in the maritime industry.
